Abstract


Streptozotocin induced diabetes mellitus was revealed a chronic disorder of carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism characterized by and absolute or relative insulin deficiency, fasting hyperglycemia, glycosuria, and a striking tendency toward
development of atherosclerosis, microangiopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, and destrution of some vital organs in body. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of experimental induced diabetic mellitus on submandiblar gland of
rats.
@ES The results were as follows;
@EN 1. Intensity of PAS stain in experimental rats was decreased periodically.
2. Destruction of serous cell, stiated duct cell, excretory duct, convoluted duct was increased periodically.
3. Increased thickness of basement membrane of vascular endothelium was not clear.
4. Serous cell was more destructive than mucous cell.
